NOTES — RESEARCH NOTES
AirflowAIRFLOW
More than humidity itself, it is the combination of heat, still air, and staying wet that invites rot. Japanese sellers' care notes make the same point again and again — the plants resent stagnant air, so airflow above all — and here, too, a free-draining mix and a place where the wind moves are the foundation of management in Kochi. Among pests, scale insects are the most frequently mentioned, but keeping the plant sound through drainage and airflow is itself a form of prevention, before any spray.
