NotesNOTES
Dyckia ‘Yeti’ is a named cultivar. We record it in 3 Instagram posts, from 2025-06-28 to 2026-01-24. Record tag(s): #tgn_dyc_yeri. A different cultivar of the same name is registered in the BCR (Bromeliad Cultivar Register, #17207): that ‘Yeti’ was bred by Bob Spivey in Texas, USA, around 2000, from marnier-lapostollei × ‘Brittle Star’ F2, and matures as a rosette about 30 cm across with roughly 20 leaves. Our plant is Steve Ball’s hybrid, and its source records it as a different type from the registered cultivar. Steve Ball’s ‘Yeti’ grows large, is densely covered on both leaf surfaces with thick, pure-white trichomes, has marginal teeth that hook toward the centre, and does not produce offsets until the plant is large and mature.
