ProfilePROFILE

Leaves overlap in many layers and open radially, closing tightly toward the centre. The surface carries almost no trichomes and colours a glossy, deep red in the light. The marginal teeth are red as well, fine and sharp in a row that does not break the red of the leaves. Bred by Michael Kiehl (Michael's Bromeliads), one of his Battle series raised by selfing ‘Mercury’ (selection number D029), and one of the cultivars with a long record here.
